YMCA Emily McGay Memorial Annual Golf Classic

The Family YMCA's Annual Golf Classic raises funds to support youth programs and scholarships. 

One critical mission area is providing support to The Española YMCA Teen Center whose trained adult staffers, while providing fun and engaging skill-building programs and tutoring, mentor youth to positive and healthy choices. While the Y operates the Center under a contract for the City of Espanola that provides for a quarter of its costs, additional funds are always needed. 

The other critical mission area is providing financial assistance so that everyone may be in Y programs, regardless of their ability to pay. These funds primarily help 200 children and 100 adults, and mainly provide children with fun, safe activities at Summer Camp and Afterschool.

In 2021, the Golf Classic will be called the Emily McGay Memorial, in honor of former beloved Y CEO Emily McGay. It will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 8 am- 2 pm. The Y's tournament is a favorite among golfers because of the numerous games of chance that are hosted along the course, the hole-in-one chance for a new car, the delicious post event meal and the wonderful lottery prizes awarded.
